Damping of resonance and structural sound

​Structure-damping materials are relatively thin compact materials, where the vibration damping effect is due to the high weight of the materials - or with the use of special viscoelastic materials.

The materials prevent the structural noise that can be formed due to vibrations being converted to airborne sound, for example in thin-plate designs, machine guards and similar situations.

Important:

​The material is best attached to cleaned surfaces (use acetone for wiping). The material should be fitted at min. 20 ° C.

The reduction of noise generated through solid materials, such as steel structures, occurs through the transformation of vibrating energy (noise) into thermal energy (heat).


This effect is achieved by attaching a heavy vibration damping material directly to the steel structure.
